Trip Itineray

Santiago and San Cristóbal Hill
We will welcome you at the airport in Santiago de Chile.
During the day, we will visit the historical downtown in Santiago to see the Government Palace and the main square (Plaza de Armas). The day will end with a visit to San Cristobal Hill, with great views of the city.
Dinner at a local restaurant close to San Cristobal.
Over night in Santiago.
Exploring Punta Arenas and the Entrance to the Straights of Magellan
The day will start with breakfast at the hotel followed by a return to the Santiago Airport.  Our mid-morning flight will last approximately three hours as we fly from Santiago to Punta Arenas, over the rugged Andes Mountain range.
Once in Punta Arenas, the group will visit the Nao Victoria Museum, where we will have our first glimpse of the Straights of Magellan and explore life-size replicas of some of the most important historical ships that traveled through the region.
We will continue to downtown Punta Arenas where we will check into the hotel.
The afternoon will be free for exploration.  The famous Brown Mansion, now a museum, provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about the history of the city and the region.  From the hotel, the city can be explored easily by foot, with one of the more popular attractions being a walk along the Costenera, the beautiful sandy shore of the Magellan Straights.
Group dinner will be arranged.
Magdalena Island & Los Pingüinos Natural Monument
Our adventure starts early morning with a visit (weather permitting) to the Magdalena Island and Los Pingüinos Natural Monument, a unique area named in 1982 as a Natural Monument to protect the wildlife of the place.  The island is located between the Moraleda Channel and the Puyuhuapi Channel, and belongs partially to the Isla Magdalena National Park, famous for its large population of Magellanic penguins, black-browed albatross and imperial cormorants.
We will travel approximately 30 minutes by bus to the ferry launch where we will catch a 90 minutes ferry ride over to Magdalena Island.
After this experience, we leave with boxed lunches for Puerto Natales (approximately 3 hours ride by bus).  Once in Puerto Natales, we will have a delicious dinner at the hotel and rest for the evening.
Laguna Escondida and Condorera
The group will begin immersion into the landscape of Torres Del Paine National Park with a hike in Laguna Escondida and Condorera (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes). Meandering through the Magellan Forest, the trail provides beautiful views of the Torres del Paine Massif as we hike to Escondida Lagoon, one of the many bodies of water carved out of the landscape by the passing glaciers.
In the afternoon, we will check into our hotel in the Cerro Castillo region and enjoy a delicious lunch at the locally owned and operated hotel.
After lunch the group will visit a neighboring estancia for an enjoyable experience learning more about the local culture, including a tour of the ranch and a live sheep shearing demonstration.
Dinner will be served at the hotel before a good night sleep.
National Park of Torres del Paine – Short Hikes
The goal for the day (weather permitting) will be to enjoy two hikes in the beautiful National Park of Torres Del Paine.  Each hike will be approximately 2 to 3 hours with majestic views of beautiful landscapes and, with little luck,  of the native wildlife too!
Our experienced guides will be constantly monitoring the weather and park usage in order to provide the group with the best hiking experience focusing on safety and avoiding areas crowded by other tourists (when possible).
In the evening, the group will return to the hotel in Cerro Castillo to enjoy dinner and rest for the evening.
National Park of Torres del Paine – Long Hike
This day’s hike will be through one of the most beautiful areas of the National Park of Torres del Paine.  The trail starts in Estancia Lazo and finishes in Puente Webber, taking approximately five hours to complete.  The plan will be to stop midway to rest and enjoy the boxed lunches provided.
Overnight and dinner at Cerro Castillo.
National Park of Torres del Paine:  Morning at Leisure and Afternoon Short Hike
After two days of hiking, the group will take a short break for rest and recuperation. The morning will be spent at leisure.  Guests can relax and soak in the hot tubs at the hotel or enjoy a late morning sleeping in.
